Location: Haverdijk 6, Helmond


Objective of the role:
Operational planning of all distribution shipments and overseeing charters in an effective and efficient manner under the responsibility of the Supply Chain Director, ensuring that goods are delivered and/or picked up according to specifications.


Working hours:

  • The regular working hours are Monday to Friday from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
  • Additionally, you will be expected to replace the evening planner during holiday periods or in the event of the evening planner’s absence. In this case, you will work from 14.00 to 22:30 o’clock. This will always be arranged in consultation.

Key Result Areas:

Route Planning
Responsible for the number of shipments per trip, constructing trips, and planning routes to ensure that the routes are driven efficiently and with a high level of service and quality.

Activities:

  • Distributing shipments across trips.
  • Ensuring routes are planned, taking into account seasonal and other conditions (infrastructure, time windows, time agreements) and utilization and loading capacity.
  • Providing direction to international drivers of various nationalities.
  • Assembling variable routes.
  • Preparing occasional activities for external customers.

Capacity Planning
Responsible for planning personnel and equipment and communicating with stakeholders to ensure this is done efficiently and with the appropriate level of service.

Activities:

  • Hiring charters based on daily forecasts.
  • Processing customer registrations.
  • Communication with internal departments regarding exceptional deliveries.

Administration
Performs administrative tasks related to the goods flow for transport and forwarding, with the goal of ensuring the goods flow proceeds as efficiently, timely, and accurately as possible.

Activities:

  • Handling all administrative tasks such as files, shipping documents, data entry, sending EDI files to external European partners.
  • Preparing final billing via TMS.
  • Registering complaints related to contracted carriers.

Coordination and Control
Coordinating activities related to the goods flow, financial flow, and documents, and controlling shipments, invoices, and warehouse records.

Activities:

  • Monitoring the correct handling of returns and rejections.
  • Maintaining necessary contacts with external carriers.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • MBO+ / HBO working and thinking level.
  • Experience with transport planning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
